Our Weight Loss Treatment Options
Your doctor will recommend what suits your health, goals and budget. Many people combine more than one.
Lifestyle & habit coaching
Practical changes to eating, activity and sleep, and help with emotional eating — the foundation of lasting results.
Weekly weight-loss injections
Newer medicines such as tirzepatide (GLP-1/GIP) and semaglutide (GLP-1) quieten appetite, giving you a head start — for eligible adults. Learn more:
Health checks
Blood tests for blood sugar, cholesterol, thyroid, liver and kidney function where needed, so your plan is safe and we can track your progress.
Specialist referral
If you need more specialised care, such as for severe obesity, we'll refer you to the right specialist.
A head start, not a cure. Medicines make it easier to eat less, but lasting results come from the habits you build alongside them — which is why every plan includes lifestyle support.

Why Your Weight Matters: Adding Healthy Years
50-second video
Singapore has the world's highest life expectancy. But a 2026 NUS–IHME study found that we also spend an average of 11.2 years in poor health — and that gap is growing.
The gap: 11.2 years in poor health
Weight is the "master switch"
Excess weight is a major driver of this gap. Fat stored deep around the organs (visceral fat) acts like an active organ, setting off many chronic conditions upstream:
Carrying extra weight also strains your joints, especially the knees.
And it's common. The National Population Health Survey 2024 found that nearly 1 in 4 adults have a BMI of 27.5 or above — high risk by Asian standards — and obesity rose from 10.5% to 12.7% in four years.
Check your waist, too. For Asians, a waist above 80 cm for women or 90 cm for men signals abdominal obesity, which carries extra health risk even if your BMI looks normal.
When Should You See a Doctor About Your Weight?
A doctor-led programme may help if any of these apply to you:
Your BMI is 23 or above
For Asians, health risks start rising from a BMI of 23.
You have a weight-related condition
A health condition linked to your weight — our doctor will review your health history with you.
Diet and exercise alone haven't worked
You've tried to lose weight, but it keeps coming back.
Quick BMI check
Enter your height and weight to see your BMI.
Healthy BMI for Asians is 18.5–22.9. Prescription weight-loss medicines are usually for a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition.
How Much Weight Should You Aim to Lose?
You don't need to reach your "ideal" weight to feel the difference. Keeping off 5–10% of your body weight significantly lowers your risk of weight-related disease — and according to Singapore General Hospital's obesity unit, benefits start from just 5%.
A first goal: 5–10%
For someone weighing 90 kg, that's about 4.5–9 kg.
A safe pace: 0.5–1 kg a week
A steady pace is often easier to stick with.
Your Healthy Life Action Plan
Small steps add healthy years. Start with these five:
Know your numbers
Check your BMI and waist size — try our BMI check above.
Book a health screening
Fully subsidised for eligible Singapore Citizens enrolled in Healthier SG with us.
Set a realistic goal
Aim to lose 5–10% of your weight, at 0.5–1 kg a week.
Change one habit
Swap sugary drinks for water, or add a daily walk. One change at a time.
Keep a food diary
Note what you eat and how you feel — it helps you spot emotional eating.

Frequently Asked Questions
If prescription treatment is suitable, weekly weight-loss injections start from $400 NETT, with free home delivery. If you have a teleconsultation and no medication is dispensed — for example a weight management enquiry, a follow-up for side effects or problems, or a consult where treatment turns out not to be suitable for you — it is $20 NETT. Your cost depends on the treatment and dose — see our price table. Our clinic team will confirm your cost before you start.
Prescription weight-loss injections may be considered for adults with a BMI of 27 or above. They are used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and regular activity. Our doctor will assess whether they are suitable for you.
Weight-loss medicines are generally not claimable under MediSave or CHAS. But if you have a weight-linked chronic condition, such as diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, Healthier SG enrolment with us can give you up to 87.5% subsidy on selected chronic medicines (means-tested, for CHAS, Pioneer and Merdeka Generation cardholders), up to $360 a year for related care, and full MediSave payment for your chronic treatment up to the MediSave500/700 limit. Some private or employer insurance plans may also cover part of the cost.
Singapore's Health Promotion Board uses these ranges for Asians: a healthy BMI is 18.5 to 22.9, health risks start to rise from 23, and are high from 27.5. They are lower than the global cut-offs because Asians tend to develop conditions such as diabetes and heart disease at a lower BMI.
The recommended pace is 0.5 to 1 kg a week. A steady pace is often easier to stick with, and our doctor will set a realistic target with you.
No. You can book a consultation with our doctors directly, either at one of our clinics or by teleconsult.
Yes. You can start with a teleconsult instead of visiting a clinic. Our doctor reviews your health, BMI and medicines, and if prescription treatment is suitable, it is delivered free to your home. If you need blood tests or a physical check first, we'll arrange a clinic visit.
Be careful. Slimming products sold online have been found to contain hidden or banned ingredients, such as sibutramine, which can cause serious side effects. Prescription weight-loss medicines should only come from a doctor at a licensed clinic.
