One blood draw. Up to 109 types of cancer. Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) Test in Singapore
Many cancers cause no symptoms in their early stages. The MCED cancer screening blood test looks for cancer signals from a single blood draw — at one of our clinics, or at your own home. Three packages: from $590 for 5 cancer categories, up to $1,990 for the Comprehensive report covering 109 types of cancer. All prices before GST.
Cancer coverage varies by package — see the full breakdown.
What Routine Cancer Screening in Singapore Covers — and What It Doesn't
Singapore's national screening programme — Healthier SG Screening (Screen for Life), run by the Health Promotion Board — subsidises screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. It is important, and you should keep doing it. But it leaves most other cancers with no routine screening programme: liver, pancreatic, gastric, kidney, oesophageal, thyroid and more.
For those cancers, symptoms are often what prompts testing — and symptoms can appear at a later stage. A multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test takes a different approach: it looks for cancer signals in a blood sample, whether or not you have symptoms.
One blood draw. Up to 109 types of cancer across 20 categories. Available at Central 24-HR Clinic — or at your home with our mobile phlebotomy service.
What Is a Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) Test?
An MCED test is a cancer screening blood test that looks for signals shed by cancer cells into the bloodstream. Instead of testing for one cancer at a time, a single sample is analysed across many cancer types at once.
Here's what makes it different from the cancer tests you already know:
- One blood draw, many cancers — up to 109 types in the comprehensive report, rather than one test per cancer
- No scans, no scopes, no radiation — it is a standard venous blood sample, the same as any routine blood test
- Mutation-specific insight — if a cancer signal is detected, the report can point towards targeted therapy options for your doctor to consider
- Reviewed by our doctors — our doctor goes through the report with you
Important: an MCED test adds to your cancer screening — it does not replace it. Not all cancers can be detected by this test, so please continue with your routine recommended screening such as mammograms, Pap smears and colonoscopy.

Results review with our doctor
We contact you to walk through your report — and, if a cancer signal is found, to arrange the appropriate follow-up tests and referral.
Understanding Your MCED Results
Your report is deliberately simple. It reports one of two results for cancer detection — and our doctor goes through it with you either way.
Negative
No cancer signal was found. However, not all cancers can be detected by this test, so be sure to continue with your routine recommended cancer screening tests.
Positive
A cancer signal was detected, meaning there is a suspicion of cancer. This is not a diagnosis. Our doctor will discuss the appropriate follow-up tests to confirm whether cancer is present, and refer you onward where needed.
The test is quantitative and can provide mutation-specific insights that may point directly towards targeted therapy options if a cancer signal is detected.
Who Should Get an MCED Cancer Screening Test?
It may be worth considering for adults with higher-than-average risk, or for those who want screening beyond the cancers covered by routine programmes.
Age 40 and above
Adults over the age of 40 should consider regular screening.
Personal cancer history
Individuals with any history of cancer or other malignancies.
Smokers & ex-smokers
Current or former smokers, and those exposed to secondhand smoke.
Family history of cancer
Crucial for those with cancer among first-degree relatives, which can indicate a genetic predisposition.
Existing conditions or symptoms
Essential for individuals living with existing conditions and/or unresolved symptoms.
Unexplained physical changes
Individuals experiencing unexplained anaemia or weight loss.
Chronic alcohol use
Excessive alcohol is a major risk factor for liver cirrhosis, which can progress to liver cancer.
MCED vs Standard Cancer Screening in Singapore
Health screening packages often include tumour markers such as CEA, PSA or CA-125 alongside general blood work. Those markers have their uses, but each one relates to a single organ — and they can be raised for reasons unrelated to cancer.
Singapore's recommended screening tests — mammogram, Pap smear, FIT and colonoscopy — remain the established standard for the cancers they cover. The MCED test screens across a different set of cancers, including several with no routine screening programme.
It is designed to complement — not replace — your existing screening. It can be combined with one of our health screening packages so your doctor sees a fuller picture in one visit:
- Basic Health Screening ($58) + MCED Basic ($590)
- Special Health Screening ($128) + MCED Men's/Women's ($990)
- Comprehensive Health Screening + MCED Comprehensive ($1,990)
We also offer the AgeQ Biological Age Test — ask our staff if you would like to add it.
Health screening prices shown are before GST.

A multi-cancer early detection blood test looks for cancer signals shed into the bloodstream, and reports whether a signal was found. It is a screening test, not a diagnosis — a positive result means there is a suspicion of cancer, and our doctor will arrange follow-up tests to confirm. Not all cancers can be detected by the test, so routine screening still matters.
The Basic package is $590, the Men's/Women's package is $990 and the Comprehensive package is $1,990 per person. If you choose home screening, add the $20 telemedicine consultation plus the mobile phlebotomy fee — $60 per site per person within 15 km of Ang Mo Kio, or $70 per site per person for the CBD area and locations beyond 15 km. All prices quoted are before GST.
Yes. Our doctor must first explain the test to you over a telemedicine consultation ($20 before GST, payable upfront). Once the phlebotomy fee and test cost are settled, a trained phlebotomist visits your home, has you sign the consent form in person, and draws your blood there. WhatsApp 9138 8947 to arrange it.
No. The MCED test is designed to complement routine screening, not replace it. Not all cancers can be detected by the test, so please continue with the recommended screening tests for your age and gender — mammograms, Pap smears, FIT and colonoscopy — alongside it.
A standard health screening includes tumour markers such as CEA, PSA or CA-125, which can flag a possible problem in one specific organ. They are useful but limited — markers can be raised for non-cancer reasons, and many cancers have no reliable marker at all. The MCED test screens across many cancer types at once from the same blood draw.
It depends on your package. The Comprehensive package covers 20 categories and up to 109 types of cancer for women, and 18 categories and 87 types for men — including breast, lung, colorectal, gastric, liver, cervical, thyroid, prostate, head and neck, oesophageal, bladder, pancreatic, kidney, ovarian, melanoma, brain, leukemia, myeloid neoplasms, endometrial, lymphomas and sarcoma.
A positive result means a cancer signal was detected and there is a suspicion of cancer — it is not a diagnosis. Our doctor will go through the report with you and discuss the appropriate follow-up tests to confirm whether cancer is present, and arrange a specialist referral if needed.
The test has an overall sensitivity of 83.1% and an overall specificity of 95.4%. In practical terms: for every 100 cases of cancer, about 17 will be missed — and for every 100 people who do not have cancer, about 5 to 6 will still return a positive signal. This is why a positive result is always verified with clinical imaging or a tissue biopsy before anything is confirmed, and why a negative result does not rule cancer out. Please continue with your routine recommended screening either way. These figures are set out in the consent form our doctor goes through with you before you are tested.
Your report is typically ready around 14 working days after your blood draw. Our doctor will then contact you to go through the results with you and, if a cancer signal is found, arrange the appropriate follow-up.
The MCED test itself is a single standard blood draw. Our clinic team will confirm any preparation needed when you book — and if you are combining it with a health screening package, you will likely need to fast for that portion.
The MCED test is a self-pay screening test and is not currently claimable under MediSave or CHAS. Some employer or private insurance plans may reimburse wellness screening — please check with your insurer, and speak to our staff if you need a detailed invoice.
The test is offered through Central 24-HR Clinic, or at your own home through our mobile phlebotomy service. WhatsApp us on 9138 8947 and we'll confirm which clinic is most convenient for you and arrange a time.
